The Odisha Vigilance department has arrested assistant civil supply officer (ACSO) Pradeep Kumar Mohapatra on allegations of possessing properties disproportionate to his known sources of income, an official revealed on Saturday.

Mohapatra, stationed in Kendrapara, was found to own significant assets, including two buildings in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, two valuable plots in the same cities, 850 grams of gold, deposits exceeding Rs 2.86 crore, and Rs 1.21 lakh in cash, according to officials.

'ACSO, Kendrapara, Pradeep Kumar Mohapatra, has been taken into custody by Odisha Vigilance and will be presented in court today for possessing disproportionate assets (DA),' the official disclosed. Additionally, a case has been filed against Mohapatra under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
