A flower vendor was arrested on Tuesday in connection with a fatal stampede that left seven dead and 16 injured at Baba Siddheshwar Nath Temple in Bihar's Jehanabad district, according to an official statement.

Preliminary findings suggest the stampede, which took place at the temple on Baravar hills in Makhdumpur block, occurred due to a clash between flower vendors and several Kanwarias, said District Magistrate Alankrita Pandey.

Authorities have imposed a vendor-free zone around the temple premises following the incident. The arrest came after reviewing CCTV footage and witness statements. The police are searching for two or three other vendors who are currently absconding.
