In a bid to modernize administrative processes, Thane's district authorities have introduced an online system for awarding work orders and processing payments to contractors, officials reported Friday.
This forward-thinking initiative will streamline the allocation of development projects worth up to Rs 10 lakh, phasing out the traditional offline method involving manual lottery draws and extensive paperwork.
Inaugurated by ZP CEO Rohan Ghuge, the new system makes Thane the seventh ZP in Maharashtra to go digital and the first to incorporate an electronic payment gateway. Ghuge highlighted that the updated process promises to significantly enhance transparency and efficiency.
