A Mumbai man has been arrested for allegedly raping his nine-year-old daughter, according to Mumbai Police. The incident reportedly took place in June and was only recently disclosed to the Dindoshi Police Station after the girl confided in her mother.

The police revealed that the man raped his daughter while alone at home in June, threatening her to keep silent. The young girl eventually told her mother, who then filed a complaint at the Dindoshi Police Station.

The accused faces charges under sections 65 (2) and 68 (A) of the BNS, along with sections 4, 10, and 12 of POCSO. He has been remanded in police custody until August 30. Further investigations are ongoing. Earlier this month, similar assaults were reported in Assam and Maharashtra.
