Senior Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan has indicated that both Haryana and Maharashtra are on the verge of a governmental shake-up following the assembly elections. He believes this upheaval will affect the BJP-led coalition's stability at the Centre.

In an exclusive PTI interview, Chavan criticized the BJP for its shortcomings on issues like inflation, unemployment, and farmer distress. He argued that women in Maharashtra would not be swayed by the BJP's 'Ladki Bahin' scheme. He highlighted corruption in the tender for Shivaji Maharaj's statue as a focal point of accountability for the BJP.

Chavan emphasized that the MVA alliance, comprising Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and NCP, would perform better in the upcoming elections. He defended Congress's 'Laadki Bahin Yojana' as a rightful financial assistance program for women's unpaid labor, dismissing BJP's recent adoption of similar schemes as election panic.
