An Indian rescue team has arrived in Nepal to assist in searching for several passengers, including seven Indians, and two buses that went missing in the swollen Trishuli River following a landslide last week.

Responding to a request from Nepali authorities, the Indian team, which includes personnel from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), reached Chitwan to carry out the search operation. The incident, which occurred on July 12, saw buses carrying 65 passengers getting swept away along the Narayanghat-Muglin road section.

The Indian team, equipped with sonar cameras and water drones, joined hands with Nepal Army, Nepal Police, and Armed Police Force (APF) teams who have been combing the wreckage since the tragedy. As of now, 24 bodies have been recovered, both within Nepal and from India, with 15 confirmed as passengers from the missing buses.
