Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday ordered a high-level enquiry into the death of three children at an orphanage in Anakapalli district. The CM also announced an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh each to the nearest kin or guardians of the victims.

The children succumbed to health complications after consuming adulterated food two days ago. Initially, it was reported that four children had died, but the official count was later revised to three. The remaining affected children are undergoing treatment at a hospital.

Expressing deep sorrow, the Chief Minister sought detailed reports from the Human Resource Development Minister, Nara Lokesh, and directed enhanced medical care for the affected children. Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav has been instructed to oversee the treatment process.

Lokesh identified the deceased children as Joshua, Bhavani, and Shradda. He communicated with the collectors of Anakapalli and Alluri Sitarama Raju districts, emphasizing better medical treatment. Additionally, the CM directed stringent action against those responsible for the incident, vowing government support to the victims' families.
