Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday declared that the forthcoming Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir will pit the region's youth against entrenched political dynasties. Modi singled out Congress, National Conference (NC), and People's Democratic Party (PDP) as the principal culprits responsible for Jammu and Kashmir's woes, accusing them of long-running corruption that has 'hollowed out' the region.
'This year, the elections to Jammu Kashmir assembly are going to be held between the dynasties and the youth of Jammu and Kashmir,' Modi said, marking his first rally in the election-bound Union Territory. 'These three families have laid the groundwork for terrorism and extremism in the valley for their personal gains,' he added.
The Prime Minister emphasized the detrimental role of these political families in nurturing and harboring terrorism, stating, 'These three dynasties – the Congress, the NC, and the PDP – have committed sins against you. They created an environment conducive to separatism and terrorism for their prosperity. My government promises to build a prosperous Jammu and Kashmir, which is Modi Ki Guarantee.'
