Tragic Shooting Incident at CAF Camp in Chhattisgarh
Two personnel of the Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) were killed and two others injured after a colleague opened fire at their camp in Balrampur district. The shooting occurred around 11 am, and the shooter, Constable Ajay Sidar, has been taken into custody. The motive is still under investigation.

In a tragic incident, two personnel of the Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) were shot dead by a colleague at their camp in Balrampur district, senior officials reported on Wednesday.
The shooting occurred around 11 am at the 'B' company of CAF's 11th battalion in Bhutahi Mod, under Samri Path police station limits, about 400 km from Raipur. Constable Ajay Sidar reportedly used his service weapon, an Insas rifle, to open fire on his colleagues, according to Inspector General of Police (Surguja range) Ankit Garg.
Constable Rupesh Patel died immediately, while another constable, Sandip Pandey, succumbed to his injuries en route to the hospital. Injured personnel Ambuj Shukla and Rahul Baghel were taken to a community health centre, with Shukla later being shifted for further treatment. Sidar has been detained, and investigators are working to determine his motive. The CAF is stationed near the Jharkhand border for anti-Naxal operations.
