In a significant breakthrough, Delhi Police have taken into custody 11 suspects tied to an Al-Qaeda-inspired terror module, officials revealed on Thursday.

In a collaborative effort, police units from Jharkhand, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh assisted the Delhi Police Special Cell in dismantling the module, which was allegedly spearheaded by Dr. Ishtiyaq from Ranchi. The group purportedly aimed to establish a 'Khilafat' and execute terrorist operations within India. According to police statements, members of this cell underwent indoctrination and weapons training at undisclosed locations.

Ongoing interrogations are taking place across various sites, and more arrests are anticipated. Authorities have executed raids in 15 locations in Ranchi, one in Rajasthan, and another in Aligarh.

The police recovered a variety of armaments from the raids, including an AK-47 rifle, a 38-bore revolver, an air rifle, an iron elbow pipe, a hand grenade, and six live cartridges for the AK-47. The findings have potentially foiled a terrorist threat, and investigations continue to reveal further aspects of the module's plans and activities. (ANI)
