Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Dr. Virendra Kumar, will kick off the 18th Divya Kala Mela in Ranchi on Thursday. The 11-day event, which runs until September 8, aims to showcase the remarkable talents and entrepreneurial spirit of Divyang artisans, artists, and entrepreneurs from across India, according to an official statement.

Organized by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, the Divya Kala Mela serves as a vibrant platform celebrating the cultural and economic contributions of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs). The event features 100 Divyang artisans from around 20 states and Union Territories, including regions like Jammu and Kashmir and northeastern states, promising a colorful display of India's rich cultural diversity.

Visitors will experience a variety of products ranging from intricately crafted handicrafts and handlooms to embroidery works, regional cuisines, and eco-friendly items. The Mela not only highlights India's diverse cultural heritage but also promotes economic empowerment for PwDs by offering a platform to sell high-quality, locally made products.
