Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah asserted on Tuesday that building a dignified society as envisioned by Brahmashree Narayana Guru should be a collective goal. Speaking at the Narayana Guru Jayanti celebration at Ravindra Kalakshetra, Siddaramaiah praised Narayana Guru's message of universal equality.

Narayana Guru, born into the Ezhava community, transcended religious and caste barriers, dedicating his life to social reforms akin to those of Buddha, Basava, and Kanakadasa, the Chief Minister said. Celebrations are planned at the district and taluk levels to honor his contributions, Siddaramaiah noted, reflecting on historical injustices like the denial of property rights and education due to the caste system.

Education is key to breaking free from social inequalities, echoed Siddaramaiah, stating that true respect for Narayana Guru comes from ensuring educational opportunities for all children. He cited Narayana Guru's initiatives, such as building temples for oppressed communities, to illustrate his relentless fight against social inequalities. The Chief Minister pledged support for the renovation of a student hostel and a community hall, and announced plans to establish the Brahmashree Narayana Guru Development Corporation.
