NITI Aayog has pledged its support to the Odisha government in crafting a vision document aimed at achieving Bikasita Odisha by 2036 and 2047, an official release confirmed. The CEO of NITI Aayog, BVR Subrahmanyam, held discussions with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Lokseva Bhawan on Tuesday to outline the ambitious strategy.

Chief Minister Majhi highlighted Odisha's vast potential across various sectors, stressing the need to harness these capabilities to achieve the Bikasita Odisha goals and further contribute to India's growth, positioning the state as a key economic driver by 2047. He set ambitious economic targets for Odisha, aiming for a $500 billion economy by 2036 and a $1.5 trillion economy by 2047.

NITI Aayog CEO Subrahmanyam emphasized Prime Minister Modi's focus on Odisha's development, stating that every state must show exceptional growth for a Bikasita Bharat. The preparation of two vision documents, one for 2036 and another for 2047, will be supported by NITI Aayog. As part of the initiative, a steering committee led by the Chief Secretary will formulate the roadmap within three months, incorporating public outreach programs to gather widespread input.

Prior to meeting the Chief Minister, Subrahmanyam and his team held extensive discussions with various departmental secretaries. Key officials, including Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Development Commissioner Anu Garg, and Additional Chief Secretary to CM Shri Nikunja Bihari Dhal, were present during the discussions.
