Swift Police Action Foils Acid Attack Plot in Agra
Two individuals were arrested for allegedly threatening a woman with an acid attack over social media. The Uttar Pradesh Police acted swiftly, apprehending the suspects within 12 hours and averting a potential attack. The accused had reportedly planned the attack after the woman's rejection of a love proposal.

Two individuals have been apprehended for allegedly threatening to carry out an acid attack on a woman via social media, police stated.
Authorities received information on July 21 about the threats, leading the Assistant Police Commissioner of Sadar, under the guidance of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Nagar Agar, to take immediate action.
Given the gravity of the situation, a Special Operations Group (SOG) and Civil Police Team were swiftly formed at Sadar Police Station. The suspects were arrested within 12 hours on Monday.
During the investigation, it was revealed that Himanshu Chahar had hired Abhishek Bhandari through social media to execute the acid attack in exchange for money. Chahar, a resident of Taraganj in Agra, reportedly sought revenge after the woman rejected his romantic advances.
Thanks to prompt action by Uttar Pradesh Police, the potential acid attack was prevented, safeguarding the woman's life.
A case has been registered against both suspects under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). More details are awaited. (ANI)
