On Friday, Congress leader Sachin Pilot harshly criticized the BJP government in Chhattisgarh for the arrest of Devendra Yadav, a Congress MLA, labeling it as a politically motivated act. Yadav was arrested in connection with the June 10 arson in Balodabazar city, an incident Pilot attributes to the failure of the state government to maintain law and order.
Pilot alleged that both the central and state governments are utilizing central agencies and local police forces to target political adversaries. 'Instead of holding the anti-social elements accountable, the BJP has wrongfully arrested Yadav as part of a political vendetta,' Pilot stated, emphasizing that Yadav was cooperating with the police before his arrest.
The arrest of Yadav, who has represented Bhilai Nagar constituency in the Durg district, led to widespread condemnation and planned protests from Congress workers. Yadav, charged with various sections of the penal code, symbolizes a broader clash between the ruling BJP and the Congress in the state, raising serious questions about justice and governance.
