Tragic Collision: Family Killed in E-Rickshaw Crash with Speeding Cars

Five members of a family were killed while three others were injured in a collision involving an e-rickshaw and two speeding cars in Inayatpur village. The incident occurred around 10 pm Thursday on the Mahmudabad-Lucknow road. The victims were en route to a funeral when the tragic accident took place.

Five members of a family riding an e-rickshaw were killed in a horrific collision with two speeding cars here, police said on Friday.

The crash, which occurred around 10 pm Thursday on the Mahmudabad-Lucknow road in Inayatpur village, left three others injured, including a child.

According to the police, a car first hit the e-rickshaw and then careened into a roadside pond. Moments later, another car struck the same e-rickshaw.

''Eight people of the same family, including an 8-year-old girl, were on their way to attend a funeral in Mahmudabad, Sitapur by e-rickshaw when the accident happened,'' Superintendent of Police Dinesh Kumar Singh reported.

Three of the injured, including the young girl, are receiving treatment at the district hospital, while the deceased have been identified as Irfan, Aziz Ahmed, Wahidun, Tahira Bano, and Sabreen, according to Singh.

The family hailed from Umra village in the Kursi area of the district, police confirmed.

The car that fell into the pond has been retrieved, and the wounded from both vehicles are currently undergoing treatment at different hospitals.
