Leaders from the ruling BJP and Opposition Congress, as well as religious figures in Madhya Pradesh, have expressed strong condemnation over the alleged adulteration of Tirupati temple laddus.

The controversy erupted after Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu claimed that animal fat was used in making laddus at Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple during the previous YSRCP government.

Congress leader and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Kamal Nath termed the reports as 'very sad' and called for a full probe. BJP leader and state minister Kailash Vijayvargiya expressed distress over the news and hoped for a thorough investigation. Religious leader Dhirendra Shastri labeled it a major crime and called for the death penalty for those responsible. Manohar Lal Panda, chief priest of Baglamukhi Mata temple, described the incident as a serious issue affecting the faith of crores of devotees and demanded strict action.
