Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid tribute to the tribals of Rajouri and Poonch, hailing them as the defenders of Jammu and Kashmir. He took the opportunity to slam Congress, National Conference (NC), and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for what he called 'stepmotherly treatment' of these marginalized communities.
Shah urged Gujjars, Bakerwals, and Paharis to support the BJP in the ongoing assembly elections, promising development and the end of what he described as the 'monarchy' of the Gandhis, Abdullahs, and Muftis, who have reportedly kept the Pir Panjal region underdeveloped for 75 years.
He announced new reservations in promotions, scholarships of ₹10,000 per year, and the establishment of IAS and IPS training centers. Shah also highlighted plans to attract tourists by developing two new cities, citing increased tourist footfall during Prime Minister Modi's tenure. He underscored the transformation in Jammu and Kashmir under Modi's leadership, urging voters to end the family rule and bring in democracy.
