In a tragic incident, two brothers lost their lives in a pond at Gauharganj village in Madhya Pradesh's Raisen district on Wednesday, according to an official report.

The incident took place in the afternoon, approximately 55 kilometers from the district headquarters. Sub-Divisional Magistrate Chandrashekhar Shrivastava reported that the younger brother, Rohit Giri, aged 16, was bathing in the pond when he ventured too deep and began drowning.

In a desperate attempt to save his younger brother, Sonu Giri, aged 22, also drowned. The police, along with local divers, later recovered the bodies and handed them over to the family after conducting a post-mortem examination.
