The 34-year-old former world No.1 highlighted the severity of her condition, stating that her knee cartilage is in poor condition, making it challenging to train for extended hours.
Nehwal, who made history as the first Indian to win an Olympic badminton medal, revealed on the 'House of Glory' podcast that she must decide on her badminton future by the end of the year. She admits that shorter training sessions are inadequate for competing at high levels.
The trailblazing athlete, who has now ventured into politics, reflected on her career's potential end. Last seen in the Singapore Open over a year ago, Nehwal expressed pride in her accomplishments despite the challenges and external pressures from stakeholders.
