Born in Lucknow in December 1933, Denzil and his brother Trevor Keelor, who was the first IAF pilot to record an air kill in Independent India, earned legendary status. Both were celebrated for their outstanding contributions during the 1965 war.
Denzil Keelor also took part in the 1971 Indo-Pak war. His brave exploits earned him multiple gallantry awards, including the Vir Chakra and Kirti Chakra. He displayed exceptional skills in managing two critical aircraft emergencies in 1978, showcasing unparalleled courage and professional excellence.
