An Indian Air Force helicopter executed a daring rescue operation on Thursday morning, evacuating four critically injured individuals from the Puh-Sumdo Valley in Uttarakhand after their vehicle plunged into a gorge.
The Indian Air Force (IAF) confirmed that the evacuation utilized the Mi17 V5 helicopter. The rescue mission, described by the IAF as a joint operation, involved Indian Army jawans who initially rescued the survivors and transported them to the Karcham helipad.
The injured were then swiftly airlifted by the IAF helicopter, providing in-flight medical assistance, and transported to Shimla for further medical treatment, according to an official statement by the IAF.
