The construction of a new ropeway at the Radha Rani temple in Barsana has reached completion and is expected to be inaugurated around Janmashtami, offering a more convenient method for devotees to reach the temple, which stands approximately 600 feet above ground, officials announced on Tuesday.

The Braj Tirth Vikas Parishad (BTVP) has extended an official invitation to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to lead the inauguration. Adityanath, who serves as the ex-officio chairman of the BTVP, has yet to confirm his participation, according to a senior official.

When operational, the new ropeway will replace the arduous task of climbing stairs with a comfortable gondola ride, enhancing accessibility for devotees. Shyam Bahadur Singh, CEO of the BTVP and Vice Chairman of the Mathura-Vrindavan Development Authority, confirmed that the construction on the Brahmachal Hill is now complete. ''The inauguration is anticipated to coincide with Janmashtami,'' Singh stated.
