VBA Chief Criticizes Arbitrary BJP Governance and Calls for Tribal Rights

VBA chief Prakash Ambedkar criticized the BJP for its arbitrary governance when it had a full majority, citing the recent cancellation of a lateral entry recruitment by the UPSC. The decision, sparked by opposition claims that it undermined OBC, SC, and ST reservations, was reversed to ensure rightful representation for marginalized communities. Ambedkar emphasized the need for VBA and tribal groups to cooperate for tribal rights, while also addressing the rise in societal violence attributed to growing social and religious hatred.

Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) chief Prakash Ambedkar on Tuesday criticized the BJP's arbitrary actions when it held a full majority, referencing the recent cancellation of a lateral entry recruitment notification by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

The UPSC's announcement to recruit 45 joint secretaries, directors, and deputy secretaries through lateral entry ignited backlash from opposition parties. They argued that it jeopardized the reservation rights of OBCs, SCs, and STs, leading the Centre to cancel the advertisement to ensure rightful representation for marginalized communities.

Ambedkar, speaking at a press meeting after consulting with tribal organizations and leaders, called for united efforts from VBA and tribal groups to defend tribal rights. He also commented on the rise in societal violence, linking it to increasing social and religious hatred over the years.
