In a recent move, Congress legislators in Odisha have sought Governor Raghubar Das's intervention to address discrepancies in reservation quotas for SC, ST, and OBC students in technical and medical education.
The issue has been a point of contention in the state Assembly, with Senior Congress MLA Taraprasad Bahinipati raising the matter during zero hour.
Displeased with the lack of ruling from the Speaker, Congress members led by Rama Chandra Kadam walked out of the Assembly and approached the Governor. They submitted a memorandum highlighting the 'gross injustice' faced by these communities, which constitute 94% of the state's population.
