A right-wing group member, Meenu Rathore, attempted to enter the Taj Mahal on Monday to offer 'Gangajal,' claiming the monument is actually a Shiva temple named 'Tejo Mahalaya.'

However, police stopped her at the west gate, preventing her entry. ACP Syed Areeb Ahmad confirmed that Rathore eventually offered 'Gangajal' at the Rajeshwar temple.

The incident stirred controversy, as Rathore and the Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha reaffirmed their belief that the Taj Mahal is originally a Shiva temple. Sanjay Jaat, the group's spokesperson, supported Rathore's claims.
