Adani Power Limited on Monday announced the incorporation of a wholly-owned subsidiary, Adani Power Middle East Ltd., based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The new entity will focus on investments in power, infrastructure, and related sectors, according to an official exchange filing.

The subsidiary has an authorized capital of USD 27,000, divided into 27,000 shares of USD 1 each. Adani Power owns the entirety of the new company's shares, ensuring full control and strategic direction.

With a generation capacity of 15,250 MW, Adani Power is India's largest private thermal power producer. It operates plants across multiple states including Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Jharkhand. Additionally, the company runs a 40 MW solar power project in Gujarat.

Adani Power claims to be the world's first to establish a coal-based Supercritical thermal power project under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) of the Kyoto Protocol. Recently, the company and its subsidiary, Mahan Energen Limited, signed a substantial Rs 11,000 crore contract with Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited (BHEL) to develop three advanced supercritical thermal power projects.

The agreement, finalized on Sunday, involves the supply of key equipment and the supervision of erection and commissioning activities. Each power project will boast a 2x800 MW capacity, leveraging Supercritical Technology for enhanced efficiency.

These projects will be executed at Kawai Phase-II and Kawai Phase-III in Rajasthan, and Mahan Phase-III in Madhya Pradesh, further expanding Adani Power's footprint in India's energy sector.
