Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Thursday praised the construction of the Swaminarayan Temple in Abu Dhabi, calling it a testament to the robust cultural ties between India and the UAE.

In a meeting with a UAE parliamentary delegation led by Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, head of the Committee on Defence, Interior and Foreign Affairs, Birla emphasized India's historical and cultural connections with the UAE that have strengthened since Independence.

He pointed out that both nations share common perspectives on global and regional issues, which form the foundation of their strong relations. Birla advocated for the regular exchange of parliamentary delegations to further bolster this bilateral relationship. He also suggested that mutual discussions and the sharing of best practices through technology could enhance the prosperity and development of both countries.

Birla proposed that the dialogues and discussions between the parliamentary committees of the two nations be intensified.
