A bus carrying Shiite pilgrims from Pakistan to Iraq crashed in central Iran, claiming at least 28 lives, an official reported on Wednesday.
The tragedy occurred Tuesday night in Yazd province, as per Mohammad Ali Malekzadeh, a local emergency official cited by the state-run IRNA news agency.
The crash also injured 23 people, 14 of them seriously. At the time of the accident, 51 individuals were on board, heading to Iraq for Arbaeen commemorations.
