ClearTax, an online tax-filing platform, announced a partnership with Microsoft to offer a simplified tax-filing solution for gig workers in India. This innovative solution, developed using Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service, enables users to file their taxes through WhatsApp.

According to a statement, the initiative has already seen impressive results, with nearly 98,000 gig workers successfully filing their taxes within just five weeks of its launch. Participants are also expected to reap immediate economic benefits from this streamlined process.

Looking ahead, ClearTax plans to extend the service to employers, allowing them to help their blue-collar employees with tax filing and TDS refund claims. Co-founder Archit Gupta highlighted that this initiative aims to not only provide short-term relief but also further the national objective of financial inclusion.
