Meta has introduced a suite of new features and programs aimed at enhancing the WhatsApp Business experience, including a verified badge for small businesses to establish credibility with customers.

During the WhatsApp Business Summit in Mumbai, Meta highlighted Artificial Intelligence tools designed to elevate messaging interactions. These AI tools, which can be activated directly from the WhatsApp Business app, have shown promising early results in India.

In a bid to support small businesses, Meta also launched WhatsApp Bharat Yatra, an outreach initiative offering in-person training in tier 2 and 3 cities across India. This training will help businesses set up WhatsApp Business accounts and manage digital advertising.

The new features and updates are designed to help businesses build a strong presence and enhance customer experiences as they prepare for the upcoming festive season.

According to Meta India Vice President Sandhya Devanathan, WhatsApp has become a crucial part of India's digital transformation, facilitating new business growth models and customer engagement strategies.

Meta's commitment to helping businesses maximise their value per dollar includes the introduction of custom messages, which allow businesses to send personalised notifications such as appointment reminders and sale updates. These messages can be customised with a customer's name and call-to-action buttons for a fee.

Meta also outlined best practices for businesses to maintain meaningful connections with customers, emphasizing the importance of thoughtful messaging during the busy festive season.
