Remote Ladakh Village Gets 4G Connectivity: A Collaborative Effort
A remote village in Ladakh has gained 4G mobile network access, thanks to a coordinated effort between the local administration, Indian Army, and Airtel. Chushul Councillor Konchok Stanzin and Brigadier S Rana inaugurated the service. The project involved laying Optical Fibre Cable, installing a tower, and constructing a battery bank.

A remote village along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh has been connected to 4G mobile network services, an achievement made possible by the concerted efforts of the local administration and the Indian Army. The Airtel 4G network was inaugurated at Phobrang village by Chushul Councillor Konchok Stanzin and Brigadier S Rana of the 118 Brigade.
This significant development was a result of collaboration among the local administration, army personnel, villagers, and the councilor. Councillor Stanzin also provided a solar plant to power the network tower, while the Indian Army laid five kilometers of Optical Fibre Cable. Villagers contributed by constructing the battery bank, and Airtel took charge of installing the tower, according to an official spokesperson.
The completion of this project brought overwhelming joy and gratitude from the villagers of Phobrang, who celebrated the newfound connectivity as a leap forward for their community. Special thanks were directed towards the deputy commissioner and the Fire and Fury Corps for their support and dedication to this initiative.
