In a surprising decision, Argentine football team Deportivo Riestra included influencer Iván Buhajeruk, famously known as 'Spreen', in their lineup against Velez Sarsfield on Monday. Despite making waves, Buhajeruk's on-field time was short-lived, as he was substituted before even touching the ball.

The move, which was intended as a promotional strategy for the club's main sponsor, an energy drink company, has drawn criticism from various players. Velez striker Braian Romero expressed disappointment, emphasizing the importance of genuine effort and dedication in football.

Deportivo Riestra's captain, Milton Celiz, revealed that the idea originated from club owner Victor Stinfale, who also owns the sponsoring company. While some see the stunt as a marketing tactic, others argue it undermines the sport's integrity.
