Teenage Indian golfer Zara Anand made an impressive start at the Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC) Junior Girls' Championship, carding a 2-over 74 to secure a tie for fifth place.

The performance was noteworthy, especially compared to fellow Indian golfer Keerthana Rajeev Nair, who shot a 9-over 81 and stood 26th after the first round. Among the boys, Anshul Mishra, with a score of 72, tied for sixth place, while Ranveer Mitroo's 74 placed him tied-12th.

In the team competition, Indian Team 2, consisting of Zara Anand and Ranveer Mitroo, was tied-9th, while the pair of Anshul Mishra and Keerthana Rajeev Nair was tied-21st. The European Golf Association Team 1 took the lead after the first day. Hong Kong's Arianna Lau led the individual girls' leaderboard with a brilliant 4-under 68.
