India's goal fest commenced early with Sukhjeet scoring in the second minute and Abhishek following suit immediately in the third. Further goals from Sanjay, Uttam Singh, and another by Sukhjeet in the 60th minute underscored India's dominance.

Despite a late effort by Matsumoto Kazumasa for Japan, the Indian team exhibited remarkable control with 67 percent ball possession and relentless offense, setting the stage for their next encounter against Malaysia on Wednesday.
