The 29th edition of the All India J P Atray Memorial Cricket Tournament is set to commence with 16 teams participating from September 10-20.

This BCCI-recognized event will unfold at various venues including Punjab Cricket Association's stadiums in Mullanpur and Mohali, as well as at the Tau Devi Lal Cricket Stadium in Panchkula.

Organizing Secretary Sushil Kapoor announced that teams such as Indian Railways, Haryana Cricket Association Colts, and Punjab Cricket Association Colts will compete. Matches will follow a league-cum-knockout format, with the top team from each pool advancing to the semi-finals. The grand finale will take place at PCA Stadium in Mohali.

In addition, games will also be played at Dhruv Pandove Cricket Stadium and in Chandigarh, with each match featuring 50 overs per side. The Punjab Cricket Association, affiliated with the BCCI, oversees the tournament.

The winning team will claim Rs 3 lakh and a trophy, while the runners-up will receive Rs 1.5 lakh and a trophy. Tournament convener Vivek Atray expressed optimism that the event would serve as valuable preparation for the upcoming domestic season.
