In a special ceremony on Monday, Meghalaya Governor C H Vijayashankar felicitated Nongjri Presbyterian Secondary School for their victory in the Subroto International Tournament U-15 boys category held in Bengaluru.

Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma attended the event at Raj Bhavan, noting it was a poignant moment and praising the governor's thoughtful initiative. He emphasized the state's significant investments in sports infrastructure in recent years.

Governor Vijayashankar lauded the young athletes, stating, 'To win this prestigious tournament is not something to be taken lightly. The best time for learning for any child is between the age of 6 and 16. It is inspiring to see excellence at this age.'
