Punjab FC Signs Argentine Midfielder Norberto Ezequiel Vidal for 2024-25 Season

Punjab FC has secured Argentine midfielder Norberto Ezequiel Vidal as their fifth foreign signing for the 2024-25 season. Punjab FC has announced the acquisition of Argentine midfielder Norberto Ezequiel Vidal for the 2024-25 season, making him the fifth foreign signing for the team. Vidal, 29, previously played for Indonesian top-flight side Persita Tangerang. Born in Bahia Blanca, Argentina, he primarily operates as an attacking midfielder or winger. His professional journey began at Club Olimpo in 2011.

Over eight years with Club Olimpo, Vidal appeared 45 times, scoring three goals. He was loaned to Atletico Independiente (Argentina), Delfin SC (Ecuador), and Atletico Juventud (Uruguay). In 2019, he joined Argentine Primera B side San Martin SJ and later moved to Atletico Alvarado, where he netted five times in 37 matches. After a brief stint with Independiente Rivadavia, he signed with Persita Tangerang in 2022, scoring 17 goals in 60 appearances over two seasons.

Technical Director Nikolaos Topoliatis expressed enthusiasm about the signing, stating, "We are excited to have Vidal in our ranks for the upcoming season. He is an exciting player who will add more speed and creativity to our midfield. I wish him the best for a successful season with us."
