Bengaluru FC skipper Sunil Chhetri has commended the Indian Super League (ISL) as one of the most pivotal tournaments in his career. In anticipation of the 2024-25 season, Chhetri remarked that in 2014, he couldn't have foreseen the league's monumental growth, which has seen it expand from an eight-club, two-month league to a year-long competition producing numerous young talents.

Chhetri noted, "It has grown outstandingly well...with the talents that it has produced." The ISL has firmly positioned itself as a cornerstone of Indian football, with Chhetri hopeful for even greater advancements in the next decade.

This season, Kolkata-based Mohammedan SC joins the ISL, following their promotion from the I-League. Chhetri, familiar with Kolkata's passionate football culture, is optimistic about the positive impact Mohammedan SC will have on the league.
