Bengaluru's Abhay Mohan clinched his maiden national title by winning the prestigious Formula 1600 National championship with 10 consecutive wins, following the final round of the MRF-MMSC Indian National Car Racing Championship on Sunday.

The 2022 junior national karting champion, who stepped up to single-seater racing this year, adapted swiftly to the powerful Formula cars. Mohan showcased a phenomenal all-win record up till the penultimate race of the final round. The 16-year-old maintained an unbeaten streak for 10 races and secured the championship that featured 12 races.

Two Mumbai drivers, Zahan Commissariat and Raaj Bakhru, finished second and third, respectively. Reflecting on his achievement, Mohan said, ''This is my first year in single-seater Formula cars, but it has been a memorable season. It feels really amazing to be the National champion and to have 10 consecutive wins.''
