K-RIDE Needs More Technical Strength for Bengaluru Suburban Railway Project, Says Railway Minister

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighted the need for more technical strength in the Karnataka Rail Infrastructure Development Company Limited (K-RIDE) to efficiently execute the Bengaluru Suburban Railway Project. The project, a joint venture between the state and the Centre, requires substantial expertise due to its complexity. Vaishnaw plans to review the project soon.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stressed the need for enhanced technical capabilities in the Karnataka Rail Infrastructure Development Company Limited (K-RIDE) to successfully implement the Bengaluru Suburban Railway Project. Citing its complexity, he emphasized that K-RIDE needs more technical strength.

During a recent statement, Vaishnaw indicated he would visit Bengaluru in the coming weeks to evaluate the progress of the project. He noted that K-RIDE's organizational deficiencies were identified in his last review, calling for an immediate ramp-up of technical expertise.

Vaishnaw also commented on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project, reporting rapid progress with 327 kilometers of the viaducts completed and the undersea tunnel work underway. The first section is expected to start operations in 2026.
