Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stressed the need for enhanced technical capabilities in the Karnataka Rail Infrastructure Development Company Limited (K-RIDE) to successfully implement the Bengaluru Suburban Railway Project. Citing its complexity, he emphasized that K-RIDE needs more technical strength.

During a recent statement, Vaishnaw indicated he would visit Bengaluru in the coming weeks to evaluate the progress of the project. He noted that K-RIDE's organizational deficiencies were identified in his last review, calling for an immediate ramp-up of technical expertise.

Vaishnaw also commented on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project, reporting rapid progress with 327 kilometers of the viaducts completed and the undersea tunnel work underway. The first section is expected to start operations in 2026.
