In a thrilling UTT 2024 encounter, Dabang Delhi TTC staged a sensational comeback to defeat table-toppers PBG Bengaluru Smashers 8-7 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai. Rising star Diya Chitale's dominant 3-0 win (11-6, 11-10, 11-8) over World No. 26 Manika Batra sealed the stunning victory for the Delhi-based team.

The match, which saw PBG Bengaluru Smashers racing to a 7-1 lead, took a dramatic turn as Dabang Delhi clinched seven consecutive games. Despite the loss, the Smashers became the first team to enter the knockouts with 48 points after five ties. Meanwhile, Dabang Delhi TTC remain second with 41 points.

The day's earlier clash saw Puneri Paltan Table Tennis make a strong case for the knockouts with a 9-6 win against debutants Jaipur Patriots. The Pune team is now fourth with 28 points. Key victories from Ankur Bhattacharjee and Natalia Bajor helped Puneri Paltan Table Tennis secure the win in a high-octane match.
