The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on Saturday inaugurated a rock climbing facility at the Squash and Badminton Stadium on Siri Fort Road. This marks the first time such a facility has been introduced in any DDA sports complex, according to an official statement.

Rock climbing, an activity where participants climb up, down, or across natural rock formations or artificial rock walls, aims for participants to reach the summit or the end point of a pre-defined route without falling. The new addition is among several unique sports offerings introduced by the DDA.

Inaugurating the facility, DDA Vice-Chairman Subhasish Panda reiterated the authority's commitment to providing world-class sports facilities to Delhi's residents. The DDA is actively developing various sports amenities, including squash, badminton, breakdancing, parkour, aerial yoga, aerial silks, and calisthenics, to promote fitness and ease of living in the city.
