A report of an alleged helicopter theft in Uttar Pradesh's Meerut almost escalated into a political controversy before being quickly resolved by the police. Authorities clarified that the incident was a misunderstanding arising from a business transaction between two aviation companies.

Police had initially received a complaint from Ravindra Singh, a pilot with SAR Aviation Service Private Limited, who claimed that his firm's helicopter had been stolen. Singh alleged that people dismantled and transported the helicopter in a truck and assaulted him. The complaint gained traction on social media, with Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav using it to criticize the state's law and order.

Following an inquiry, police revealed that SAR Aviation Service Private Limited had sold the helicopter to another firm. The new owners legally transported the helicopter by truck. Allegations of assault made by Singh were also found to be unsubstantiated. The incident was identified as a dispute between business partners rather than a criminal act.
