The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has urged the BCCI to provide written proof from the Indian government if it refuses to allow the team to travel for the 2024 Champions Trophy, citing a security travel ban, a PCB source disclosed. The urgency stems from the tournament's scheduled start in February-March.

While the ICC's annual conference in Colombo on July 19 doesn't feature discussions on the 'Hybrid Model' of India playing their games in the UAE, the global body has nonetheless earmarked funds should the event span two countries. '' If the Indian government denies permission, the BCCI must provide that letter to the ICC,'' a PCB source working with the organizing committee told PTI.

The BCCI has consistently maintained that such decisions rest with the government. The 2023 ODI Asia Cup saw India playing all its games in Sri Lanka based on the same 'Hybrid Model'. The PCB has already submitted a draft schedule to the ICC with India's matches, including a potential semi-final and final, set in Lahore. The tournament kicks off in Karachi on February 19 and concludes in Lahore on March 9, with contingency plans due to anticipated concerns.
