The carcass was discovered near Jawhar Phata on Thursday. The animal likely wandered onto the highway in search of water, falling victim to a passing vehicle.
The Tansa Sanctuary's dense forests, located in Shahapur taluka, are home to diverse wildlife. In response to the rising number of such tragic incidents, the forest department plans to install highway warning signs to better alert drivers.
