The Centre has given the nod for the creation of a web series called 'Project Cheetah,' which aims to spotlight India's efforts in the world's first intercontinental translocation of cheetahs from Africa. Official documents reveal the filming will start around the second anniversary of the initiative in September.

In communication with the chief wildlife warden of Madhya Pradesh, Deputy Inspector General Vaibhav Chandra Mathur from the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) confirmed the approval. The series will be filmed by Shen Films and Planting Productions, covering locations such as Kuno National Park and the Gandhi Sagar Wildlife Sanctuary.

Scheduled to be broadcast in 170 countries on Discovery Network, the web series will delve into the project's conceptualization, challenges, and future outlook. Despite initial criticism following the deaths of several cheetahs, the project sees new hope with the birth of 12 cubs this year. Officials have plans to import more cheetahs and are negotiating with South Africa and Kenya to meet their annual goal of introducing cheetahs to ensure a thriving population.
