In a significant development, Karnataka BJP President BY Vijayendra has welcomed the Bengaluru Court's order for an investigation against Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah regarding the alleged MUDA 'scam'. Vijayendra stated that BJP and JD(S) will hold a protest at Vidhana Soudha on Thursday.

Vijayendra emphasized, "I welcome the order of the special court. At the same time, since the investigation targets the powerful CM Siddaramaiah, I demand the CM hand over the investigation to CBI and tender his resignation immediately. Tomorrow, BJP and JD(S) will demonstrate in the Vidhana Soudha premises."

Earlier today, the Special Court directed Karnataka Lokayukta to probe the allegations involving illegal allotment of 14 sites, worth Rs 56 crore, to Siddaramaiah's wife Parvathi by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA). The Lokayukta's Mysuru district police will investigate and submit their report in three months. The court's decision followed the Karnataka High Court's vacation of its interim stay order on Tuesday.

Social activist Snehamayi Krishna's petition led to the court's directive. "FIR will have to be registered as per the order. Mysuru Lokayukta jurisdiction will register an FIR and do the investigation," stated Advocate Vasant Kumar, representing Krishna.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Karnataka High Court dismissed Siddaramaiah's petition challenging Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot's approval for the investigation. Justice Nagaprasanna, presiding over the single judge bench, found no fault in the Governor's sanction for prosecution.

It's alleged that MUDA illegally allotted 14 prime location sites in Mysuru city to CM Siddaramaiah's wife. The High Court had previously provided temporary relief to Siddaramaiah, instructing the special court in Bengaluru to defer proceedings and avoid any precipitative actions following the Governor's sanction.
