Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board Chairperson and BJP leader Darakhshan Andrabi on Saturday stressed the growing insignificance of the Congress, National Conference, and PDP in the region. She claimed that no government could be established without the Bharatiya Janata Party.

'The Pahadis have embraced Amit Shah and PM Modi in their hearts. Our government has achieved more for the people in the last 75 years. People attend Amit Shah's rallies with enthusiasm, knowing our Prime Minister works for their welfare,' Andrabi stated.

Discussing assembly polls, Andrabi predicted a strong showing for the BJP, citing widespread public support. 'Voters are prioritizing development and recognize the bloodshed caused by PDP, NC, and Congress. Nobody looks up to them anymore,' she asserted.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah remarked that the upcoming election was about dismantling the dominance of the Gandhi, Abdullah, and Mufti families. 'Since independence, these families have stifled democracy. With Modi ji's intervention, we conducted Gram Panchayat and Tehsil Panchayat elections, bringing 30,000 youth into the democratic fold who may rise as future leaders,' he said.

During the first phase of the Jammu and Kashmir assembly polls, a voter turnout of 61.13 percent was recorded across 24 constituencies in seven districts, with Kishtwar district recording the highest turnout at 80.14 percent.

Polling for the subsequent phases is scheduled for September 25 and October 1, with vote counting set for October 8.
