As the Haryana assembly elections approach, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Manju Hooda from Garhi Sampla-Kiloi has voiced her confidence in her hard work and public backing.

"I have reiterated that my hard work and belief, along with public support, will see me through. Despite having no political background, I am committed to working hard," Hooda stated.

Addressing her husband's past, she emphasized, "Politics is secondary; harmony is essential. My husband has refrained from any personal misconduct for over a decade. I am confident of victory."

The BJP has named Manju Hooda as its candidate in Garhi Sampla-Kiloi, currently represented by Congress leader and former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda. The party unveiled its first list of 67 candidates, including Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and former state home minister Anil Vij.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini is running from Ladwa, while Anil Vij will contest from Ambala Cantt. Other notable candidates include Gian Chand Gupta from Panchkula, Kanwar Pal Gurjar from Jagadhri, Sunita Duggal from Ratia, Bhavya Bishnoi from Adampur, and Tejpal Tanwar from Sohna.

In the wake of ticket distribution, former Haryana Minister Karan Dev Kamboj, who served as state BJP OBC Morcha chief, resigned from all party positions, citing injustice in ticket allocation.

The 90-member Haryana legislative assembly elections are scheduled for October 5, with nominations due by September 12. Vote counting will occur on October 8. (ANI)
